Overview

Bethesda Game Studios is seeking a talented Associate Animator with an enthusiasm for Motion Capture to join our team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support to the animation team by planning and running performance capture sessions and delivering final data.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience in video game development or related internship
  • Experience with motion capture hardware and pipelines
  • Proficient in Motionbuilder and Maya
  • Proficient in the use of Vicon Blade or Shogun
  • Experience with motion capture shoot direction and the mocap pipeline
  • Education in the field of 3D Animation. Motion Capture, or Film a plus.
  • Experience and passion for playing Bethesda Game Studios games

Responsibilities

  • Assist with shoots by helping with shot planning, testing assets, calibrating cameras, capturing data, etc
  • Deliver high quality motion capture data
  • Track and retarget motion capture data
  • Integrate and clean up motion-captured animations and adapt them to the defined animation style and parameters
  • Create and maintain high-end key frame animations (weight, body motions and facial expression)
  • Collaborate with other disciplines such as tech art, character art and design to understand gameplay requirements, technological issues and how they relate to animation and implementation
