id Software is looking for an experienced, mid-level User Research Analyst to join our team. The id Software User Research Lab provides usability testing, play testing, focus groups, market research, and other forms of user research at ZeniMax Media studios around the world. Our team has worked with some of the most influential and critically acclaimed titles from Arkane Studios, id Software, Machine Games, Tango Gameworks, ZeniMax Online, and several other studios in the ZeniMax family.
Recruit, screen, and schedule participants for user research studies
Work with multiple teams in planning and executing various user research studies
Conduct user research studies in the lab or online, including methods such as: play tests, usability tests, contextual interviews, competitive analysis, paper prototyping, surveys, focus groups, etc.
Understand the research need for any given project and select the appropriate methodology for the project
Maintain detailed records of participant interactions and methodologies used
Craft and deliver clearly written reports with strong and executable recommendations
Provide and discuss research results directly to dev teams
Assist in project planning for multiple projects in the lab
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, HCI, Human Factors, Market Research (or equivalent experience)
2-3 years of experience conducting user research or market research for video games or related media
Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written)
Good organizational and analytical skills
